Introducing...Honor Bright [10/5/08]

Yeah, I'm going to do this every Sunday from now on. Due to the fact, that my sister deleted Photoshop, I must find a new program, so I can edit those Highway signs. Anyways, New York has been dead recently. By that, I mean music. Long Island is the birthplace of "emo." Lately, it's the birth place of "death." No new bands, no new music. However, upstate New York, is a different story.

Honor Bright seem to know what they are doing. Performing on MTV, this band bring a classic pop punk sound, except polished. Their second release, If This Was A Movie, is really rising in my playtime lately. I suggest buying this on iTunes; because this band won't be a secret, for much long. Including in the Upstate scene.

Current Obsession: One for the Team

I don't think many things are going to well right now. For one, my computer got some spy-ware on it or something. It messed up my computer last night; but thanks to my free virus protecting service called AVG 7.5, my problems are gone. Everything is back to normal I believe. Another problem is Firefox for some reason doesn't have the "easy search" google engine anymore. I can't live like this. Oh yeah, I have no love life what so ever.

To add to these, music lately has been so dull and boring. I hear another band talk about their former lover that they still aren't over. Come on. Grow up and make music actually worth listening to. Some like the dudes and lady in One for the Team. I feel relieved for listening to this band. Like seriously, it's a whole new sound of music/feelings. The combination of vocalists Ian Anderson and Grace Fiddler is what ever band with a male/female approach wishes they sounded like.
I really hope this release fairs well. Build It Up is currently my favorite record of the year. Not one song is boring or not unique. The lyrics are words that pretty much everyone can relate to. Thank you guys for seriously giving me something interesting/enjoyable to listen to. So go out and buy their new record on iTunes. I would love to see this blow up.

Volume's Pleasure: This Town Needs Guns (4/12/08)

Volume's Pleasure: This Town Needs Guns (4/12/08)

I've heard a good amount of buzz from certain websites about bands. This band I've stumbled across a while back, but really didn't pay too much attention to. I was re-introduced to them recently. They go by the name of This Town Needs Guns.

Its just the same as it was before.
Same faces there to hit the floor.
My legs have carried me far.
There’s still strength enough for one more.

At times, the england natives bring back the good days of Indie rock. TTNG brings resemblance to American Football, Braid, and at times Death Cab For Cutie. In 2007, they released a split EP with Cats And Cats And Cats which really caught my ear. Listen to the song featured below and see why I am enjoying this band so much. Oh, by the way; they have a new album out available on iTunes.
